I am very gladErïk Bjerkesjö, young, genius Sweden fashion designer – of whose creations are under the sign of a sophisticated, timeless elegance evoking dandyism -won the latest edition of WION menswear category, renowned talent-scouting award – organized by Alta Roma, Pitti in collaboration with Vogue Italia – which was held in Florence during the latest edition of Pitti fashion tradeshow event. I like reminding my meeting with him on the last January during the launch of platform Polimoda Talents at the celebrated fashion school headed by Linda Loppa, releasing again the post which follows and depicts this successful circumstance.
FASHION & YOUNG TALENTS AT PITTI: THE FIRST EDITION OF“POLIMODA FUTURE LAB” FEATURING THE NEW-CLASSICISM OF ERÏK BJERKESJÖ
The famous Florence fashion school Polimoda during the latest edition of Polimoda Fashion Week and Pitti Man launches “Polimoda Future Lab” platform including exhibitions, installations, talks and workshops, showcasing the work made by the Polimoda ex-students in order to develop and create synergies and working chances for those ones, acting as a talent-scout, as well as reflecting about contemporary fashion and its evolution. “A fashion school has to follow its students during their training path and after”. Thus Linda Loppa, director of Polimoda, asserted during a pleasant conversation – focused on Made in Italy, the role of fashion schools and young talents – in Florence at Villa Favard, suggestive place where it was held the first edition of event, featuring Erïk Bjerkesjö, genius Swedish young designer – who is 29 years old and lives in Copenaghen -, ex-student of Polimoda who showcases the wonderful Fall/Winter 2012-2013 menswear and shoes collection he made. A bright creative, who composes music, is focused on connection of fashion to a vibrant thought and maintains a strong connection the place where he trained – being the shoes collection hand-made in the area of Florence – of whose work embodies a marvelous craftsmanship and a bright interpretation of neo-classicism: clean, delicate lines of the hand-made shoes, enriched by details as the aluminum plate covering heels, giving the chance to make them higher or lower and it also decorates the jackets, a research of materials celebrating and making use of organic leather of whose shapes are ideated by him, creating by himself the hood prototype with which is made the shape for the shoes, successful evidence of autarchy, ethic I celebrate. The same care for lightness, details, clean, slim and comfortable lines shines in the menswear collection he presented of whose items are inspired to the clothes of craftsmen at work at the Vinci shoes factory and pay homage to neo-classicism. A timeless collection, making concrete a deep thought, a strong, genuine concept, celebrating a sophisticated elegance, the use of organic materials and the craftsmanship I love.

Sono molto felice che Erïk Bjerkesjö, giovane, geniale designer svedese – le cui creazioni sono all’ insegna di una sofisticata, eleganza senza tempo che evoca il dandismo – abbia vinto l’ ultima edizione di WION per la categoria uomo, rinomato concorso di talent-scouting – organizzato da Alta Roma, Pitti in collaborazione con Vogue Italia – che si é tenuto a Firenze in occasione dell’ ultima edizione dell’ evento fieristico di moda Pitti. Mi piace ricordare iI mio incontro con lui avvenuto in gennaio in occasione del lancio della piattaforma Polimoda Talents presso la celebre scuola di moda guidata da Linda Loppa, pubblicando nuovamente il post che segue e ritrae questa felice circostanza.
MODA & GIOVANI TALENTI AL PITTI: LA PRIMA EDIZIONE DI “POLIMODA FUTURE LAB” CON IL NEOCLASSICISMO DI ERÏK BJERKESJÖ
La famosa scuola di moda di Firenze Polimoda in occasione dell’ ultima edizione della Polimoda Fashion Week e Pitti Uomo lancia “Polimoda Future Lab” piattaforma che include mostre, installazioni, talk e workshop, espone il lavoro realizzato dagli ex-allievi del Polimoda al fine di consolidare e creare sinergie ed opportunità di coloro per costoro, agendo da talent-scout come anche riflettere sulla moda contemporanea e la sua evoluzione. “Una scuola di moda deve seguire i suoi studenti durante il loro iter formativo e anche dopo”. Così ha asserito Linda Loppa, direttrice del Polimoda, durante una piacevole conversazione – incentrata sul Made in Italy, il ruolo delle scuole di moda ed i giovani talenti – a Firenze presso Villa Favard, la nuova sede del Polimoda, luogo suggestive in cui si é tenuta la prima edizione dell’ evento di cui é protagonista Erïk Bjerkesjö, geniale giovane designer svedese – di 29 anni che vive a Copenaghen -, ex-allievo del Polimoda che espone la meravigliosa collezione autunno/inverno 2012- 2013 di abbigliamento e calzature da uomo da lui realizzata. Un brillante, eclettico creativo che compone musica, é interessato alla connessione della moda a un pensiero vibrante e mantiene un forte legame con il luogo che lo ha formato – essendo la sua collezione di calzature fatta a mano nei dintorni di Firenze – il cui lavoro incorpora una meravigliosa artigianalità ed una brillante interpretazione del neoclassicismo: linee, pulite e delicate di calzature, arricchite da dettagli quali la lastra di alluminio che copre i tacchi che dà la possibilità di renderli i più alti o bassi e ne decora anche le giacche, una ricerca di materiali che celebra l’ uso dei pellami organici, eleganti forme da lui ideate, creando lui stesso il prototipo in legno con il quale si realizza la forma delle scarpe, felice evidenza dell’ autarchia, etica che celebro. La medesima cura per la leggerezza, i dettagli, linee, pulite, asciutte e confortevoli splende nella collezione uomo da lui presentata i cui modelli si ispirano agli abiti dello staff di artigiani al lavoro nel laboratorio di Vinci e rendono omaggio al neoclassicismo. Una collezione senza tempo, concretizza un profondo pensiero, un forte, autentico concept, celebra una sofisticata eleganza, l’ uso di materiali organici e l’ artigianalità che amo.
