It was recently held in Kobuleti at the Georgia Palace Hotel, the fashion contest Be Next, successful chance to see and support the Georgia creatives. This fashion contest I attended the last year evidenced it has done a further step in the concrete support of development of emerging creativity. In fact this year the awards given to the finalists was many as the production of a collection, chance given to the first finalist Tiko Pasksashvili aka Paska (who presented “Unkown”, a smashing collection featuring a hand-made textile made of cotton and silk and refined volumes under the sign of a light minimalism), resulting from a synergy created with the renowned fashion platform Muuse along with the chance of hosting the collection she made at the Batumi concept store Made in Georgia and other awards, scholarships to attend Master courses at celebrated fashion schools as the Marangoni, Milan Ied, London College of Fashion, Haute Future Fashion Academy and Domus Academy.
A special prize has given to Alexandre Akhalkatsishvili who made “The grave”, an Ossianic collection under the sign of total black and austere lines and got the chance of featuring in the magazine Citizen K. This year the creativity on show has been wider as the fashion contest included also five young Ukraine fashion designers and one of them, Yana Chervinska (who made a fun collection where Leigh Bowery meets Raffaella Carrà) won a scholarship to attend the London College of Fashion. It sounds like romantic, but I touched when all of the fashion designers were on the stage and waited for knowing of the names of winners as I saw how much were hopeful and desirous of improving their skills and doing more and better and I thought how much passion the put in what we did, without studying at any fashion school, but just at the university and arts academy, as in Georgia there is not at yet any fashion school. I was not the only one who felt like that, Katarina Dahlstrom from the Muuse fashion platform, who was sat down close to me, told me she also felt like me, breathing the vibrant air there was in this fashion contest, created by Sofia Tchkonia, I celebrated and celebrate.

Si è recentemente tenuto a Kobuleti presso il Georgia Palace Hotel, il fashion contest Be Next, felice occasione per vedere e sostenere i creativi della Georgia. Questo fashion contest a cui ho partecipato lo scorso hanno ha dimostrato che è stato compiuto un passo ulteriore nel supporto concreto dello sviluppo della creatività emergente. Infatti quest’ anno i premi dati ai finalisti sono stati vari quali la produzione di una collezione, possibilità offerta alla vincitrice del primo premio Tiko Pasksashvili aka Paska (che ha presentato “Unkown”, una formidabile collezione di cui è protagonista un tessuto di cotone e seta realizzato a mano e raffinati volume all’ insegna di un leggiadro minimalismo), derivante da una sinergia creata con la rinomata piattaforma di moda Muuse unitamente alla chance di ospitare la sua collezione presso il concept store di Batumi Made in Georgia e altri premi, borse di studio per frequentare i master presso celebri scuole di moda quali la Marangoni, lo Ied di Milano, il London College of Fashion, la Haute Future Fashion Academy e la Domus Academy.
Un premio speciale è stato dato ad Alexandre Akhalkatsishvili che ha realizzato “The grave”, una collezione ossianica all’ insegna di total black ed ha ottenuto la chance di apparire nel magazine Citizen K. Quest’ anno la creatività in mostra è stata più ampia poiché il fashion contest ha incluso anche cinque giovani fashion designers dell’ Ucraina e una di loro, Yana Chervinska (che ha realizzato una divertente collezione in cui Leigh Bowery incontra Raffaella Carrà) ha vinto una borsa di studio per frequentare la London College of Fashion. Sembra romantico, però mi sono commossa quando tutti i fashion designers erano sul palco e aspettavano di sapere i nomi dei vincitori poiché vedevo quanto erano speranzosi e desiderosi di affinare le loro doti e fare di più e meglio e pensavo a quanta passione hanno messo in ciò che facevano senza studiare presso alcuna scuola di moda, ma soltanto presso l’ università e l’ accademia delle belle arti, poiché in Georgia non esiste ancora una scuola di moda. Non sono l’ unica che si è sentita così, Katarina Dahlstrom della piattaforma di moda Muuse che era seduta vicino a me, mi ha detto che si era sentita come me, respirando la vibrante aria che c’era in questo fashion contest, creato da Sofia Tchkonia che ho celebrato e celebro.
