“The erotic lives of superheroes”(Salammbo Press $ 17.90) is the smashing book – recently released in USA and already released by Rizzoli Press in Italy – by Marco Mancassola, Italian author who is based in London, an existential hyperrealist tale which answers to the questions as: what does it stay of ourselves, our stupid narcissisms when the other decide to do without us, how can we react to the cold-heartedness in the world? That is the core of a suggestive exploration and critique of contemporary times, its values or rather its absolute lack of values, overlapping with human feelings, love, its desperate search, the loneliness resulting from the emptiness and desperation for not getting love.

Questo è il nucleo di una suggestiva esplorazione e critica della contemporaneità, dei suoi valori o meglio dell’ assoluta mancanza di valori che si sovrappone con l’ umano sentire, l’ amore, la sua disperata ricerca e la solitudine derivante dal vuoto e dalla disperazione per il non avere amore.

Il detective, personaggio creato da Marco Mancassola, diventa il mezzo per entrare ed esplorare la vita erotica dei supereroi, fatta di tristezza, dolore, ossessioni, quali quella di Batman, gay che ha una storia con Robin, protagonista di un delirio narcisistico condito da feticismo e sesso estremo. L’ autore unisce felicemente il paradigma superuomini/supereroi, eroismo/erotismo, parlando di “superuomini con super problemi” quali invecchiare, confrontarsi con il dolore, la fragilità dei corpi, enfatizzando la fine di un’ epoca, l’ epoca dei supereroi e sottolineando un’ altra epoca, fatta di altri valori, altre intenzioni e altri eroi.
