WALKING IN BRESCIA…ART, CULTURE, HEDONISM & EPICUREANISM

I spent a pleasant afternoon in Brescia, a city I appreciate very much, its architecture where are impressed signs of the people who occupied it (the Ancient Romans, Langobards, the Republic of Venice) along with the other buildings and squares talking about an age – I like very much -, the Early Nineties. A verticality and an anarchic spirit is what I felt, as sentimental traveler I am, walking in this city (historically Brescia always defended itself, from the Milan aristocracy, the Republic of Venice and in the late seventeenth century, during the Risorgimento also from the Austrian people, a resistance which lasted ten days for which it has named the  Lioness of Italy).

The first stop of my walk has been the A+B Contemporary Art Gallery. Here I saw again the bright art dealer Dario Bonetta and the exhibition which has recently opened featuring the works of matter by Tiziano Martini where the paint joins resin ( and I also enjoyed the awesome and moving work by a promising artist who is resident at this gallery, Nazarena Poli Maramotti). Later I discovered ClaraPerClara, place under the sign of hedonism which hosts a hairstylist and SPA – using and selling high-end and natural products – as well as the smashing creations ideated by Clara and made in collaboration with Beatrice Erre, unusual and fun head accessories she made.

Then I ran into another iconic place of the city, Maria Bruna, an olfactory atelier which hosts the most renowned names of artistic perfumery and also a SPA, enriched by the scents of essential oils and a furniture evoking relax and lightness I visited with Maria Bruna, fine researcher in the realm of beauty products and scents (a bright individual who amazed me, as she was the only individual I ever met, to guess the pH of my skin just by smelling it my arm). After these visits under the sign of hedonism I went in a vibrant place, the Tarantola bookstore, an famous Brescia bookstore where I saw an old collection of Lacerba – the celebrated Futurism review – and a display of works by Céline. I stayed downstairs where it is placed a coffee bar and I had a delicious coffee while I took a look at some books. It was an afternoon I spent joyfully in a city where I like coming back.

PASSEGGIANDO A BRESCIA… ARTE, CULTURA, EDONISMO & EPICUREISMO

ONE DAY IN BRESCIA(2): MY PENELOPESQUE DAY UNDER THE SIGN OF FASHION, CONCEPTS & EPICUREANISM

It’s a perfect binomial to be in Brescia and come back to Penelope, the marvelous cathedral of conceptual fashion, created by the one and only Roberta Valentini and to see the its new look, made by the architect Antonio Gardoni and creator of artistic perfumery brand Bogue, who is inspired by the idea of staircase and made the interiors more catchy and comfortable. Here I attended at a shooting made by the brilliant photographer Erminardo Aliaj (I used calling Ermengardo due to Manzonian suggestions) and I appreciated the choices made by Roberta. It has been a smashing day which ended under the sign of epicureanism in a delicious restaurant Brescia restaurant, the Osteria Bianchi, where I enjoyed a typical dish, the beef with oil and the companion of Roberta, her fantastic tales that embody relevant chapters of fashion history as well as the bright ideas by Dario Bonetta and Alessandro Boccingher, my contubernals, co-founders of AplusB gallery, who gave me details about Brescia, its history, verticality and independent spirit it saved in the passing of time, something I felt walking on the streets which makes it unique, a place where going and coming back.

ONE DAY IN BRESCIA(1): ART & MAGIC SUGGESTIONS, MY VISIT AT THE PALAZZO GUAINERI DELLE COSSERE

I recently visited Brescia, enchanting city – where to go and come back – and I was pleased to see along with Alessandro Boccingher and Dario Bonetta, the co-founders of the smashing AplusB Gallery, a small preview of “L’ avventura- die mit der liebe spielen”, group show curated by Lena Ipsen, which pays homage to the New realism film movement, is held at the Palazzo Guaineri Delle Cossere and runs through 5th July 2014. This marvelous building evokes Proustian suggestions and its disused interiors embodies mystery, sensuality and a caressing, poetic decadence which makes it magic. Here I appreciated the artworks of some young German artists, works of matter and dreamy-like etchings, featuring in this exhibition about that I tell more soon.

ART & FASHION IN BRESCIA(1): MY VISIT AT APLUSB GALLERY

I recently spent a marvelous day in Brescia, enchanting city under the sign of elegance, colors, flavors, scents and D’ Annunzio style suggestions (after all the Vittoriale, house of decadent poet, an awesome building, is close to Brescia, in Gardone Riviera) along with the kind collaboration of weather which made everything more special and pleasant. Here I visited with my awesome companions, Alessandro Boccingher and the one and only Roberta Valentini, the AplusB gallery which hosted “Piano Focale a soggetto mobile” (meaning “VRS, Focal plane with subject in motion”), the solo exhibition of Silvia Hell running through 24th April 2014. It was a successful chance to experience the exhibition path, sensorial experience connected to memories which brought back to life a memory from my childhood concerning movement, danger and satisfaction. A place to enjoy and where to come back, created by two brilliant individuals Alessandro Boccingher and Dario Bonetta, showcasing young artists and making a fine search.
