MODESIGN/FASHION AT IUAV 2013 (1)

The Newcomers 2013 is a laudable initiative at Modesign/Fashion at Iuav 2013 showcasing the works of the students of Iuav University Faculty of Fashion Design in many Treviso boutiques as well as in the Continental Hotel ( the set of movie “The consequences of love” by Paolo Sorrentino featuring Tony Servillo), place displaying the work by Gianluca Ferracin, inspired by the Asburgic era.

The emerging creativity and fashion culture, a value and a continuous dialogue, was the theme of two talks moderated by Cristiano Seganfreddo and Giusi Ferrè that took place at the Treviso Loggia dei Cavalieri and considered the purpose of a fashion school, the Treviso Faculty of Fashion Design (created in 2005 by Maria Luisa Frisa), for working on the Italian fashion identity in a region, the Veneto, hosting 9600 fashion companies and in a city, Treviso, including over 2000 fashion companies.

A main focus at the Iuav University is to join the training and working with promotion and the active process of observing the fashion project while questioning contemporary lifestyle. An important step in the further development of this laudable work has been the words by the new Treviso major, Giovanni Manildo, who has been one of the experts included in the second talk and considered the chance of bringing again the Biennale of Applied Arts in Treviso. Maybe as Giusi Ferrè asserted during the end of the second talk, that could be the starting point of something which could be (hopefully) developed in the forthcoming times: words to think about and do more and better.

I Newcomers 2013 è una lodevole iniziativa alla Modesign/Fashion at Iuav 2013 che espone i lavori degli studenti della Facoltà di Fashion Design dell’ Università Iuav in molte boutiques di Treviso come anche nell’ Hotel Continental ( il set del film “Le consequenze dell’ amore” di Paolo Sorrentino con Tony Servillo), luogo che espone il lavoro di Gianluca Ferracin che si ispira all’ era asburgica.

La creatività emergente e la cultura della moda, un valore e un continuo dialogo, è stato il tema di due talks moderati da Cristiano Seganfreddo e Giusi Ferrè che ha avuto luogo alla Loggia dei Cavalieri di Treviso ed ha considerato la finalità di una scuola di moda, la Facoltà di Fashion Design di Treviso (creata nel 2005 da Maria Luisa Frisa), per lavorare sull’ identità della moda italiana in una regione, il Veneto che ospita 9600 aziende di moda e in una città, Treviso che include più di 2000 aziende di moda.

Una rilevante obiettivo dell’ Università Iuav è unire la formazione e il lavoro e operare nella promozione e il procedimento attivo nell’ osservare il progetto moda mentre si discute del lifestyle contemporaneo. Un importante passo nell’ ulteriore consolidamento di questa lodevole opera sono state le parole del nuovo sindaco di Treviso, Giovanni Manildo, che è stato uno degli esperti inclusi nel secondo talk ed ha preso in considerazione la possibilità di riportare la Biennale delle Arti Applicate a Treviso. Forse come ha affermato Giusi Ferrè alla fine del secondo, ciò potrebbe essere l’ inizio di qualcosa che (sperabilmente) potrebbe essere sviluppato in futuro: parole per pensare e fare di più e meglio.

MODESIGN/FASHION AT IUAV 2013, THREE DAYS UNDER THE SIGN OF FASHION CULTURE & EMERGING CREATIVITY

There is an event July 3^rd in Treviso that had been organized by Iuav University of Venice featuring the fashion culture and emerging creatives, the Newcomers 2013, their work will be displayed in the shop windows of many Treviso boutiques. Book launches, exhibitions and talks will also feature in the event as well as the book launch of “11 idee per l’ Italia”, translation ”11 ideas for Italy” (Marsilio editions) that will take place on 3^rd July, at 7:00 pm, in the Treviso Loggia dei Cavalieri. Cristiano Seganfreddo will moderate a panel of experts such as Maria Luisa Frisa, Giusi Ferrè, Lapo Cianchi and Federico Sarica. Following the panel discussion there will be another talk about the official launch of Modesign/Fashion at Iuav, taking place at 9 pm and moderated by Giusi Ferrè.

Thursday 4^th July at the Treviso Iuav University the exhibition “Close-up, sguardi sull’ attività del Corso in Design della Moda”, curated by Maria Bonifacic displaying the students work, “Fashion ephemera by Antonio Marras documenti per gli studi di moda”, display by Mario Lupano showcasing fashion documents, “Strike a pose”, a shooting event. It will follow “Refuso tessile. Archivio, riciclo e procedure progettuali” an exhibition, curated by Maria Cristina Cerulli and Martina Bernardi which will be opened at the Treviso Archivio di Stato at 5:00 pm and will run through 12^th July. Later Giusi Ferrè will moderate the first talk “La felicità del made in Italy, conversazioni sulla moda, l’ industria e il territorio”, featuring Brunello Cucinelli which will be held at the Treviso Loggia dei Cavalieri at 6:00 pm and the event will follow with “Ritorno al futuro e second skin”, exhibition of the works by Iuav students that have financed by brands Lotto and Stonefly. The day will be ended by the second talk at 9:00 pm, featuring the Coin Group CEO Stefano Beraldo.

The smashing event will close on 5^th July with a talk, “Per una fotografia italiana di moda” which will be held at Treviso TRA cultural association, the opening of exhibition “Linen yearn: il lino nel lavoro di due scuole di moda: London Central Saint Martins and Iuav University of Venice” at the Treviso Musei Civici which will runs through 13^th July, the graduation show and a smashing after party. A not to be missed happening evidencing a laudable work by a public institution, focused in creating solid results to increase, support and share the fashion culture and emerging creativity.

Il 3 luglio c’è un evento a Treviso che è stato organizzato dall’ Università di Venezia Iuav di cui sono protagonisti la cultura della moda e la creatività emergente, i the Newcomers 2013, il loro lavoro sarà esposto nelle vetrine di molte boutiques di Treviso. Presentazioni di libri, mostre e talks saranno anche protagonisti dell’ evento come anche la presentazione del libro “11 idee per l’ Italia”(Marsilio editore) che avrà luogo il 3 luglio, alle ore 19:00 pm, presso la Loggia dei Cavalieri di Treviso. Cristiano Seganfreddo modererà un gruppo di esperti tra cui Maria Luisa Frisa, Giusi Ferrè, Lapo Cianchi e Federico Sarica. A seguire della discussione del gruppo ci sarà un’ altro talk sul lancio ufficiale di Modesign/Fashion at Iuav 2013 che avrà luogo alle ore 21:00 e sarà moderato da Giusi Ferrè.

La giornata sarà conclusa dal secondo talk alle ore 21:00 , con il CEO del Gruppo Coin Stefano Beraldo.

Il formidabile evento si chiuder il 5 luglio con un talk, “Per una fotografia italiana di moda” che si terrà presso l’ associazione culturale TRA di Treviso, l’inaugurazione della mostra “Linen yearn: il lino nel lavoro di due scuole di moda: London Central Saint Martins e della Università Iuav di Venezia” presso i Musei Civici di Venezia che proseguirà fino al 13 luglio, il graduation show e un formidabile after party. Un evento imperdibile che dimostra un lodevole lavoro di una istituzione pubblica, dedita a creare solidi risultati per accrescere, sostenere e condividere la cultura della moda e la creatività emergente.

“HOUSE OF AN ALIEN”, A PERFORMANCE BY IVANO ATZORI EXPLORING MULTIMEDIA AT MILAN GLORIA MARIA GALLERY

It will be hosted on 24^th March 2011 in Milan at the Gloria Maria Gallery from 7:00 to 9:00 pm “House of an alien”, performance curated by Federico Sarica, featuring the smashing graffiti artist – known as Dumbo – and designer Ivano Aztori, exploring the meaning of his own identity and contradictions along with the impact of Facebook use and the consequences arising from that. Here it will be showcased also an autobiographical installation, including photographs and mementos of artist, telling about his past work and Ivano Atztori will be open a profile on Facebook. News will spread virally and he will able within a short lapse of time to amass many friendship requests. Those ones are real friends, curious strangers, colleagues and professionals coming from his same realm. The artist – at the Gloria Maria Gallery -, while the list of friendship requests will stay in a kind of limbo, will make the a flesh and blood version of his own profile, enriched by objects evoking his world as works, photographs and himself. That will be the place where the artist – inside a three-dimensional version of his profile – will invite the suspended Facebook friends, questioning them: “ Do you want to be friends of mine? I do agree with that, but let’s meet me vis à vis”. A not to be missing happening to enjoy a vibrant artist and to explore multimedia.

Sarà ospitata il 24marzo a Milano presso la Gloria Maria Gallery dalle ore 19:00 alle 21:00 “House of an alien”, performance curata da Federico Sarica di cui é protagonista il formidabile graffitista – noto nelle visti di Dumbo – e designer Ivano Aztori che esplora il significato della sua identità e le sue contraddizioni unitamente all’ impatto che ha l’uso di Facebook e le conseguenze da esso derivanti. Ivi sarà esposta anche un’installazione autobiografica che include fotografie e memorabilia dell’artista che raccontano il suoi precedenti lavori e Ivano Atztori aprirà un profilo su Facebook. La notizia si spargerà viralmente in un breve lasso di tempo e costui avrà la possibilità di accumulare plurime richieste di amicizia. Costoro saranno veri amici, curiosi sconosciuti, colleghi e professionisti provenienti dal suo medesimo ambiente. L’artista, mentre la lista di richieste di amicizia rimarrà in una sorta di limbo, realizzerà – alla Gloria Maria Gallery – realizzerà una versione in carne e ossa del suo stesso profilo, arricchito da oggetti che evocano il suo mondo quali opere, fotografie e sé stesso. Questo sarà il luogo in cui l’artista – all’interno di una versione tridimensionale del suo profilo – inviterà gli amici di Facebook sospesi, chiedendo loro: “Vuoi essere mio amico? Sono d’accordo, ma incontriamoci di persona”. Un evento imperdibile per apprezzare un vibrante artista ed esplorare la multimedialità.

THE THIRD EDITION OF FASHION ON PAPER IN ROME HADRIAN’S TEMPLE
