It was just only one day I spent in the Rome countryside in La Storta at I Casali del Pino where it was held the tenth edition of Floracult, event created by the bright fashion designer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi, focused on the nature and its culture that featured books launches, talks and permanent installations to pay homage and celebrate the natural world and their little hosts. A smashing chance to come back, enjoy a beloved place, discover and share new ideas and emotions.

Soltanto un giorno, quello da me trascorso nella campagna romana a La Storta presso I Casali del Pino in cui si è tenuta la decima edizione di Floracult, evento creato dalla brillante fashion designer e attivista nel sociale Ilaria Venturini Fendi, incentrato sulla natura e la sua cultura di cui sono stati protagonisti presentazioni di libri, talks ed eventi permanenti per rendere omaggio e celebrare il mondo della natura ed i suoi piccoli ospiti. Una formidabile occasione per ritornare, apprezzare un luogo a me molto caro, scoprire e condividere nuove idee ed emozioni.

Men, animals and plants, everyone has its own story, but from the relationship between them it arises an unique and complex harmony. “Identity, relationship, harmony”, this is the theme of Floracult, event which will be held from 25th to 28th April 2019 in the suggestive frame of Rome countryside in La Storta, at I Casali del Pino, successful celebration of nature, its culture as wells its ten years of life. Many are the events, the permanent installations that talk about the world of nature, its little hosts and different possibilities, shapes and colors. Talks, workshops, book launches as well as a special guest star, Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, professor, perfumer, photographer, botanist, legendary persona from Marrakech, renowned for his gardens that host the Moroccan museum of contemporary art he created and the scents and spices of the perfumes he made. He has worked, during his long career as gardener for over ten years, on the famous Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, purchased by Yves St. Laurent in 1980, an awesome tropical garden featuring plants coming from all over the world. A not to be missed happening to live and discover again the natural dimension, the depth of its voices and rhythms, a precious source to think about and do, save, take care and protect.

Uomini, animali e piante, ognuno con la sua storia, ma è dalla loro relazione che nasce un’armonia unica e complessa. “Identità, relazione, armonia”, questo il tema di Floracult, evento che si terrà dal 25 al 28 aprile 2019 nella suggestiva cornice della campagna romana a La Storta, presso I Casali del Pino, felice celebrazione della natura, la sua cultura ed anche i suoi dieci anni di vita. Plurimi gli eventi, le installazioni permanenti che parlano del mondo della natura, dei suoi piccoli ospiti e delle sue svariate possibilità, forme e colori. Talk, workshop, presentazioni di libri e anche un ospite d’eccezione, Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, professore, profumiere, fotografo, botanico, personaggio leggendario di Marrakech, noto
per i suoi giardini, che ospitano il museo di arte contemporanea marocchina da lui creato e per le essenze e le spezie dei suoi profumi. Nella sua lunga carriera di giardiniere si è occupato per più di dieci anni del famoso Jardin Majorelle a Marrakech, acquistato da Yves St. Laurent nel 1980, un giardino tropicale lussureggiante ricco di piante provenienti da tutto il mondo. Un evento imperdibile per vivere e riscoprire la dimensione naturale, la profondità delle sue voci e dei suoi ritmi, una preziosa risorsa per pensare e fare, da conservare, curare e proteggere.
Nature as a lifestyle under the sign of sustainability, that is what it featured in the ninth edition of Floracult, event ideated by the strong social activist, pioneering fashion designer and farming businesswoman Ilaria Venturini Fendi and curated by Antonella Fornai, which was recently held in the Rome countryside, in La Storta at I Casali del Pino. It’s culture, this, made concrete through different events as workshops, book-launches, exhibitions and talks. The sounds, scents and flavors belonging to the natural world along with its little hosts were the main features, a tale enriched by an awesome frame, the enchanting, relaxing and warmth atmosphere which makes this place a special place where to go and come back. That is what I do since seven years and year after year I continue discovering something new concerning the nature, sustainability. I often use to saying I am grateful to have the chance of increasing my modest knowledge concerning this field to which I am very sensitive and deeply connected.

This event becomes more special as it often gives to me the chance to see many things and also sharing all that with some beloved friends. I like reminding two special moments, a talk featuring the architects Antonio Girardi and Cristiana Favretto, focused on sustainable solutions as the Jellyfish hydroponic installation in its further developments which has been presented during the Milan Expo. They also talked about the PNAC, the projecting team joining architecture, botany and interior design coordinated Stefano Mancuso as well as about the way plants can be used as sensors, model for innovation and means to purity the air. That it has witnessed by “Breath”, an installation evidencing to which extent the plants can be filters to remove the pollution there is in the atmosphere. This and other kinds of solutions that are respectful of the world where we live were adopted by some Tuscany areas as Prato, city with which the PNAC is collaborating. Another special interlude has been the conference held by the iconic fashion guru Li Edelkoort and hosted by the bright fashion journalist Antonio Mancinelli. She created Bloom, a magazine launched in 1998 I was pleased to see and read, to increase the contemporary lifestyles inspired by the love for the plants, flowers and garden. It is a precious contribute she gave in order to increase a sustainable way of thinking inside out the realm of fashion, or rather to define fashion in an anti-fashion way, considering the current vision of mainstream connected to this realm. It’s a different way to think, create and make, that until now it has considered just merely pioneering, but it is born to be the only way possible in the forthcoming future. The consciousnesses arising from that, doubts and ideas were many, a precious gift resulting from this moment of culture sharing: to question and have doubts, ideas on the move, the driving forces of a change, something which is really necessary.

Natura come stile di vita all’ insegna della sostenibilità è stata protagonista della nona edizione di Floracult, evento ideato dalla fervente attivista nel sociale, pionieristica fashion designer ed imprenditrice agricola Ilaria Venturini Fendi e curato da Antonella Fornai, che si è recentemente tenuto nella campagna romana, a La Storta, presso I Casali del Pino. Cultura, questa, concretizzata attraverso svariati eventi quali workshops, presentazioni di libri, esposizioni e talks. I suoni, profumi e sapori del mondo della natura unitamente ai suoi piccoli ospiti erano i prersonaggi principali, un racconto arricchito da una splendida cornice, l’ incantevole, rilassante e calda atmosfera la quale rende questo luogo un posto in cui andare e ritornare. Questo, ciò che faccio da sette anni e anno dopo anno continuo a scoprire qualcosa di nuovo in tema di natura, sostenibilità. Dico spesso che sono grata di avere la possibilità di accrescere la mia modesta conoscenza in questo ambito verso cui sono molto sensibile e profondamente connessa.

Tale happening diventa ancor più speciale, poiché mi offre anche la possibilità di vedere tante cose nuove e anche condivider tutto ciò con alcuni cari amici. Mi piace ripensare a due momenti speciali, un talk con gli architetti Antonio Girardi e Cristiana Favretto, incentrato su soluzioni sostenibili come l’ installazione idroponica Jellyfish nei suoi ulteriori sviluppi che è stata presentata nell’ occasione dell’ Expo milanese. Costoro hanno anche parlato di PNAC, il team di progettazione che unisce architettura, botanica e interior design coordinato da Stefano Mancuso come anche del modo in cui le piante possano fungere da sensori, modello di innovazione e strumenti per purificare l’ aria. Ciò che dimostra “Breath”, installazione che prova in che misura le piante possano essere filtri per rimuovere l’ inquinamento atmosferico. Questo ed altri tipi di soluzioni rispettose dell’ ambiente in cui viviamo sono state adottate in alcune aree della Toscana come Prato, cittadina con cui il PNAC sta collaborando. Altro speciale interludio, la conferenza tenuta dall’ iconica fashion guru Li Edelkoort e moderata dal brillante giornalista di moda Antonio Mancinelli. Costei ha creato Bloom, un magazine lanciato nel 1998 che son stata lieta di vedere e leggere, per incentivare gli stili di vita che si ispirano all’ amore per le piante, i fiori ed il giardino. Un prezioso contributo, il suo, al fine di incrementare un modo sostenibile di pensare dentro e fuori dall’ ambito della moda o meglio definire la moda un una modalità anti-moda, considerando l’ attuale visione di mainstream collegata a questo settore. Un diverso modo di pensare, creare e fare che finora è stato ritenuto meramente pionieristico, ma è destinato ad essere l’ unico modo possibile nel prossimo futuro. Molteplici le consapevolezze, i dubbi e le idee che discendono da ciò, un prezioso regalo, tratto da questo momento di condivisione di cultura: interrogarsi e aver dubbi, idee in movimento, le forze motrici di un cambiamento, qualcosa che è davvero necessario.

Nature, its culture, that is the main feature of nineth edition of Floracult, event created by the pioneering fashion designer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi which will be held from 20th to 22nd April 2018 at the I Casali del Pino, in La Storta, in the Rome countryside. Many will be the suggestions and initiatives connected to that as workshops, book-launches and permanent installations to discover the place surrounding us and new ways to start a deep dialogue, harmony with the natural world and its hosts. Stories of life as the one which will be told ( on 20th april 2018 at 10:30 am) by Elisabetta, Silvia, Liana Margheriti along with Isabella Casati di Monticelli who will talk about their experiences lived with Mario, the father, who introduced in the floristic marked many different plants that became of common usage. Walking in the wood will be the core of talk by the architect and environmentalist Filippo Lapadula ( which will be held on 20th April 2018 at 3:30 pm). “And now it changes”, that is the title of book by Andrea Degl’ Innocenti, journalist and co-founder of project Italia che cambia (which will be presented on 20th April 2018 at 17:30), which embodies a series of visions and actions to make this country more sustainable, fair and successful. A wonderful experience joining architecture, interior design and botany gave rise to Pnat, the projecting team coordinated by Stefano Mancusoand featuring the architects Antonio Girardi and Cristiana Favretto who will tell about their experience ( on 21st April 2018 at 3:30 pm), evidencing how the plants can be used as sensors, model for innovation and means to purity the air. During this event it will presented “Breath”, an installation evidencing to which extent the plants can be filters to remove the pollution there is in the atmosphere. Another precious consciousness is the one by the professor of arborea culture Giuseppe Barbera who invites, through the book the wrote, “To embrace the trees” ( its launch will be held on 21st April 2018 at 5:00 pm featuring the journalist, music expert and enthusiast gardener Carlo Massarini). The ending day of Floracult will feature a talk with an iconic persona of fashion and design scene, Li Edelkoort, who created Bloom, a magazine launched in 1998, to increase the contemporary lifestyles inspired by the love for the plants, flowers and garden. Many will be the permanent events as the art installation “Matter in the air” – curated by the artist Marijcke van der Maden along with Oriana Impei, professor of sculpture at the Rome Arts Academy, who will present the works by emerging Italian and foreigner emerging artist, made by drawing inspiration from the Casali del Pino -, the one by ArteViva which will show the art of loom as well as the many exhibitors of natural products, flowers, plants, Epicurean delights, garments and accessories. A not to be missed happening in a special place to discover and enjoy, where to go and come back.

La natura, la sua cultura, questa la protagonista della nona edizione di Floracult, evento creato dalla pionieristica fashion designer e fervente attivista nel sociale Ilaria Venturini Fendiche si terrà dal 20 al 22 aprile 2018 presso I Casali del Pino, a La Storta, nella campagna romana. Molteplici le suggestioni e iniziative a essa legate quali workshops, presentazioni di libri ed eventi permanenti per scoprire il luogo che ci circonda e nuovi modi per avviare un profondo dialogo, un’ armonia con il mondo naturale ed i suoi ospiti. Storie di vita come quell ache sarà raccontata ( il 20 aprile 2018 alle ore 10:30) da Elisabetta, Silvia, Liana Margheriti insieme ad Isabella Casati di Monticelli che parleranno delle loro esperienze vissute con Mario, il padre, che ha introdotto nel mercato florovivaistico svariate piante divenute di uso comune.. Passeggiare per il bosco sarà il tema del talk dell’ architetto ed ambientalista Filippo Lapadula (che avrà luogo il 20 aprile alle ore 15:30). “E adesso si cambia”, codesto, il titolo del libro di Andrea Degl’ Innocenti, giornalista e co-fondatore del progetto Italia che cambia (che sarà presentato il 20 aprile alle ore 17:30), il quale racchiude una serie di visioni ed azioni per rendere questo paese più sostenibile, equo e felice. Una meravigliosa esperienza che unisce architettura, design e botanica ha dato vita a Pnat, il team di progettazione coordinato da Stefano Mancusodi cui sono protagonisti gli architetti Antonio Girardi e Cristiana Favretto, i quali narreranno la loro esperienza ( il 21 aprile 2018 alle ore 15:30), dimostrando il modo in cui le piante possano essere usate come sensori, modello per l’ innovazione e mezzo per purificare l’ aria. Durante tale evento sarà presentata “Breath”, un’ installazione che dimostra in che misura le piante possano fungere da filtri per rimuovere l’ inquinamento atmosferico. Un’ altra preziosa consapevolezza è quella del professore di coltura arborea Giuseppe Barbera che invita, tramite il suo libro, a “Abbracciare gli alberi” ( la cui presentazione si terrà il 21 aprile 2018 alle ore 17:00 con il giornalista, esperto di musica e appassionato giardiniere Carlo Massarini). La giornata conclusiva di Floracult avrà quale protagonista un iconico personaggio dello scenario della moda e del design, Li Edelkoort, la quale ha creato Bloom, un magazine lanciato nel 1998, per incentivare gli stili di vita contemporanei che si ispirano alle piante, ai fiori ed al giardino. Molteplici gli eventi permanenti tra cui l’ installazione artistica “Materia nell’ aria” – curata dall’ artista Marijcke van der Maden assieme a Oriana Impei, docente di scutura presso l’ Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma -, le quali presenteranno le opere di artisti emergenti italiani e stranieri, realizzate traendo ispirazione dai Casali del Pino -, quella di ArteViva che mostrerà l’ arte del telaio come anche i diversi espositori di prodotti naturali, fiori, piante, delizie epicuree, abiti ed accessori. Un evento imperdibile in un luogo speciale, da scoprire e apprezzare, in cui andare e ritornare.

It will be opened on 22nd April 2016 in the Rome countryside, at La Storta, at I Casali del Pino, the 7th edition of Floracult, gardening trade-show event which will be held from 22nd to 25th April 2016, created by the pioneer fashion designer, farmer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi. The opening will feature some cultural events under the sign of nature and its hosts as the talk with Libereso Guglielmo – which will be held at the 11:00 – who will launch the book he made “Ricette per ogni stagione con le erbe e il fiori dalle Alpi al mare” (standing as “Recipes for every season with herbs and flowers from the Alps to the sea”), successfully evidencing to the extent is important how and what everyone eats. It will follow Silvia Assolari with the book launch of “Prati fioriti”, who ideated Seme nostrum and studying the natural fields in Friuli, the “Magredi”, she had the idea of making available into the market the seeds of wild plants. Elvira Imbellone and Mariano Josè Elkaràs Falkenberg will tell at 5:00 pm about the plants of welfare or rather plants as commonly used in the interior design contributing to purify the air and giving other benefits. The happening will be enriched of permanent events as “Contronatura”, exhibition event featuring the works by the artists Walter Di Paola, Fabio Alecci and Gianluca Esposito, the sculptures by Emy Petrini, a showcase on wild cooking, the spices and infusions by the herb garden Meo Fusciuni and an enchanted room which will host the suggestive little creatures peopling the nature, designing a healthy lifestyle under the sign of nature and sustainability. A not to be missed happening for all the ones who are devoted to nature and its culture.

Sarà inaugurata il 22 aprile 2016 nella campagna romana, a La Storta, presso I Casali del Pino, la settima edizione di Floracult, mostra mercato florovivaistica che si terrà dal 22 al 25 aprile 2016, creata dalla pioneristica fashion designer, imprenditrice agricola e attivista nel sociale Ilaria Venturini Fendi. La opening avrà quali protagonisti alcuni eventi culturali all’ insegna della natura ed I suoi ospiti come il talk con Libereso Guglielmo – che avrà luogo alle ore 11:00 -, il quale presenterà il suo libro “Ricette per ogni stagione con le erbe e il fiori dalle Alpi al mare”, che felicemente dimostra in che misura sia rilevante come e cosa mangiamo. Seguirà Silvia Assolari con la presentazione del libro “Prati fioriti”, la quale ha ideato Seme nostrum e studiando i prati naturali ad alta biodiversità in Friuli, i “Magredi” ha avuto l’ idea di rendere disponibili all’ interno del mercato le sementi di piante selvatiche. Elvira Imbellone e Mariano Josè Elkaràs Falkenberg parleranno alle ore 17:00 delle piante del benessere delle piante ovvero delle piante comunemente usate nell’ arredo di interni che contribuiscono a purificare l’ aria e apportare altri benefici. L’ happening sarà arricchito da eventi permanenti quali “Contronatura”, evento espositivo con le opere degli artisti Walter Di Paola, Fabio Alecci e Gianluca Esposito, le sculture di Emy Petrini, una rassegna in tema di cucina selvatica, le spezie e gli infusi dell’ aromatario Meo Fusciuni e una stanza incantata che ospiterà le suggestive, piccole creature che popolano la natura. disegnando un salubre lifestyle sotto il segno della natura e della sostenibilità. Un evento imperdibile per tutti quelli che sono devoti alla natura e alla sua cultura.

Clay and fireclays give rise to vision of matter that remind cities and labyrinths, successfully joining the rigor and immediacy of artistic gesture and the functionality of design. The same room hosted the creations Anna Fendi that are under the sign of Epicureanism and refinement: a selection of chine and furniture concerning the table setting that embody the value of a made in Italy product and a wise craftsmanship, an alchemy talking about harmony and culture of taste. Shapes, flavors and colors depict the elegance, a lifestyle, the one which is impressed in the life and works of the bright creative.

Equilibrio e fantasia, un gioco di forme realizzate mediante l’ uso dell’ antica tecnica della ceramica. Argilla e terre refrattarie danno vita a visioni materiche che ricordano città e labirinti, unendo felicemente il rigore e l’ istantaneità del gesto artistico e la funzionalità del design. Questi i protagonisti delle creazioni della designer bresciana Adriana Albertini che sono stati esposti in una suggestiva, ampia sala durante la sesta edizione di Floracult.

Il medesimo ambiente ha ospitato le creazioni di Anna Fendi all’ insegna di epicureismo e raffinatezza: una selezione di vini e arredi in tema di table setting che racchiudono in sé il valore di un prodotto made in Italy e una sapiente artigianalità, un’ alchimia che parla di armonia e della cultura del gusto. Forme, sapori e colori dipingono l’ eleganza, un lifestyle, quello impresso nella vita e nelle opere della brillante creativa.
“Blindly into the scent”, an experience under the sign of memory, that has been the olfactive and interactive installation made by the bright alchemist and herbalist Meo Fusciuni which featured in the sixt edition of Floracult. To turn back time, remind the present, past, fragments of life, faces, feelings, sounds connected to a scent. A Proustian becoming an unusual exercise through a sense, the olfaction, expressive medium which is rarely used to do that. The mysteries of olfactive design are infinite. It’ s a wide land to explore, magic of chemistry, molecules, emotions. Meo who usually tells about his own experiences, journeys through the scents he make, this time created something which has thought only to be shared with the others. A wrapping, playful and solemn experience, emphasized by a display of photography, poetries he wrote and the lyricism of a music he made, a suggestive discover I did during this circumstance. There were 12 boxes on a table in the room which hosted the installation, an olfactive path to do slowly and solemnly, a short emotional trip, made by using the nose. At the entering Meo gave a paper to fulfill in order to describe the existent or non-existent, more or less recent memory, connected to the fragrance(it was a game or rather a test and its result would has been anonymous or read for random during the talk held by the Psychology Gianni Brighetti on this theme). I still remember the scent of caramel embodied in a box which reminded me the candyfloss I joyfully ate when I was a child and go to the circus with my mother, then another strong smell which made me remind the smell of crowd and the energy during a concert of Iggy Pop I attended many times ago in Rome. The olfaction, a sense silently, clearly, deepness and lightness speaking. That evidences how much we can discover on ourselves, our interaction with the others and the world surrounding us through it, a successful epiphany.
ALLA RICERCA DEL TEMPO PERDUTO: AROMI E POESIA VISTI DA MEO FUSCIUNI A FLORACULT

“A occhi chiusi nel profumo”, un esperienza all’ insegna della memoria, l’ installazione olfattiva e interattiva realizzata dal brilllante alchimista and aromatario Meo Fusciuni che è stata protagonista della sesta edizione di Floracult. Tornare indietro nel tempo, ricordare il presente, il passato, frammenti di vita, volti, sentimenti, suoni legati a un sentore. Una ricerca proustiana che diventa un esercizio insolito attraverso un senso, l’ olfatto, medium espressivo sovente poco usato per far ciò. I misteri del design olfattivo sono infiniti. Un’ ampio terreno da esplorare, magia della chimica, delle molecole, emozioni. Meo che solitamente racconta delle sue esperienze, dei suoi viaggi attraverso i suoi profumi, stavolta ha creato qualcosa pensata unicamente per essere condivisa con gli altri. Un’ esperienza avvolgente, ludica e solenne, enfatizzata da una raccolta di fotografie, poesie da lui scritte e dal lirismo di musiche da lui create, una felice scoperta da me fatta durante questa circostanza. Nella sala che ospitava l’ installazione si trovavano dodici scatole, un percorso olfattivo da compiere con lentezza e solennità, un breve viaggio emozionale, fatto con il proprio naso. All’ ingresso Meo stesso dava un foglio da compilare per descrivere il ricordo legato alla fragranza, esistente o inesistente, più o meno recente(era un gioco o meglio un test, il cui risultato sarebbe stato anonimo o casualmente letto durante il talk tenuto dal professore di psicologia Gianni Brighetti su questa tematica). Ricordo ancora la fragranza di caramello racchiusa in una scatola che mi ricordava lo zucchero filato che gioiosamente mangiavo quando da bambina andavo al circo con mia madre, poi un’ odore forte che mi richiamava alla mente l’ odore della folla, l’ energia durante un concerto di Iggy Pop a cui ho assistito tanto tempo fa a Roma. L’ olfatto, un senso che parla in silenzio e con profondità, chiarezza e leggerezza. Ciò dimostra quanto possiamo scoprire di noi stessi, della nostra interazione con gli altri e con il mondo che ci circonda attraverso di esso, una felice epifania.

Poetry and lightness, an elegy which celebrates the nature and its little hosts, this is “The natural stories”, the exhibition project by Olga Pong, bright milliner and accessories designer who featured in the sixth edition of Floracult, nursery-gardening event ideated by the fashion designer, farmer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi and curated by the landscape architect Antonella Fornai which has recently held in I Casali del Pino, at La Storta, in the picturesque frame of Rome countryside. The culture and love for nature turns into shapes and visions, giving rise to delicate creations – hats and head accessories – unique pieces where it shines a wise craftsmanship and the excellence of made in Italy that has exhibited during the event and enriched by a site-specific installation of matter which reminded a big spider and its webs, made exclusively for the event by the designer. It’s an enchanting alchemy which talks about refinement, savoir faire, uniqueness and documents the overwhelming creativity of Olga. The lyricism becomes clear, incisive and at the same time light sign, key to decode the elegance, resulting from a lifestyle which takes over itself a vibrant aesthetics and an ethic which makes concrete healthy values and pays homage to the natural world.

Poesia e levità, un’ elegia che celebra la natura e i suoi piccoli ospiti, questo è “Le storie naturali”, il progetto espositivo di Olga Pong, brillante designer di cappelli e accessori che è stata protagonista della sesta edizione di Floracult, evento florovivaistico ideato dalla fashion designer, imprenditrice agricola e attivista nel sociale Ilaria Venturini Fendi e curato dalla paesaggista Antonella Fornai che si è recentemente tenuto ai Casali del Pino, a La Storta, nella pittoresca cornice della campagna romana. La cultura e l’ amore per la natura si trasforma in forme e visioni, dando vita a delicate creazioni – cappelli e cerchietti -, pezzi unici in cui splende una sapiente artigianalità e l’ eccellenza del made in Italy che sono stati esposti durante l’ evento e arricchiti da un’ installazione materica site-specific che ricordava un grande ragno e le sue ragnatele, realizzata appositamente per l’ evento dalla designer. Un’ incantevole alchimia che parla di raffinatezza, savoir faire, unicità e documenta l’ inarrestabile vis creativa di Olga. Il lirismo diventa segno, preciso, incisivo e al tempo stesso leggero, chiave per decifrare l’ eleganza, risultato di un lifestyle che assume su di sé un’ estetica vibrante e un’ etica che abbraccia salubri valori e rende omaggio al mondo della natura.

Poetry, lightness, culture of nature, sweetness, an ontology of life and existence which depicts a genuine and conscious lifestyle under the sign of modesty, humility, solidarity, dynamism and kind anarchism. That is the thought of Angelo Naj Oleari, bright and eclectic individual – Fluxus artist, celebrated fashion designer of brand Naj Oleari which during the Eighties softened the dress-code of men and women, author and poet – featured along with Guido Piacenza in the opening talk of the sixth edition of nursery-gardening event Floracult ideated by Ilaria Venturini Fendi and curated by Antonella Fornai which has recently held at the Casali del Pino in La Storta, in the suggestive frame of Rome countryside.

Bright and vibrant ideas on the move are embodied in “Armonia selvatica, semi coraggiosi” (standing as “Wild harmony, brave seeds”, Ponte alle Grazie editions, 12,00 Euros), the book he made, launched during this circumstance, which directs to farmers, experts of this field and neophytes, asserting and evidencing with autobiographical tales where he talks about his life and experience, flowers, trees and insects with a deep love and respect arising from the loving care he gave in this realm, developed with the opening of the Milan Botanical Centre in 1975, impressed in the famous prints of cloths by Naj Oleari and recently crowned by the creation of International Association Brave Seeds which has the purpose of promoting the method of wild agriculture, an anarchic concept opposing to the monoculture (word reminding me the “One-dimensional man”, book by Herbert Marcuse, documenting the parallel rise of new forms of social repression in the capitalistic and communist society from whose arises the lack of freedom of people and promoting the great refusal, the negative thinking in order to oppose oneself to the methods of control) and considers the dynamism, genius loci, heritage of flora and fauna existing in a certain place, being favorable to the natural development of a certain plot. The one, like me, who is deeply ignorant in this realm, enriched oneself by new consciousnesses, by hearing his talk and reading the book he made. This theme could sound very far from who doesn’t use to take care – like me – of grasses, though he/she loves them, but it’s not like that.

Nature is the metaphor of life and living, a lifestyle made of “a supportive movement”, a collaborative participation which turns itself into participative collaboration. That reminds the idea which is the core of Wikipedia, though it doesn’t come from the ether, but it arises from the land. It’s a cultural evolution starting from the farming and becoming culture, a monition to increase “the communication from the sky to the earth” – as Angelo asserts – “towards the being”. It shines the kind anarchism opposing to the will of power which gave rise to mono-cultural systems of control and supremacy in the political, state, military, religious, educational, working, industrial and unfortunately also agricultural. The idea of Angelo is to remove agriculture from the system in order to get the harmony in every other realm under the sign of a creative spirit, which makes everything change and re-form a spirit of great understanding. It continues talking about agriculture, but it’s not like that, or rather it’ s not only about that. Culture, knowledge, sociality, syncretism, removal from the ethic of “divide et impera” (“divide and conquer”) or the sterile categorical imperative of “produce, consume, die” featuring in the track “Morire” (“To die”) by CCCP giving rise to a blind consideration of needs in a consumerist way, which impoverishes the man where unnatural and unnecessary needs – as the ones defined by Epicurus – become essential. This and much more I will talk about widely soon is what is embodied in this book, precious instrument to think about and see the world surrounding us through another point of view, being much more simple, clear and healthy than the twisted ways where the individual often gets lost.

Poesia, leggerezza, cultura della natura, dolcezza, un’ ontologia della vita, dell’ esistere che parte dalle piante, un’ idea, l’ armonia selvatica che dipinge uno stile di vita genuino, autentico e consapevole, all’ insegna di modestia, umiltà, solidarietà, dinamismo e anarchismo gentile. Questo il pensiero di Angelo Naj Oleari, brillante ed eclettica individualità – artista Fluxus, celebre fashion designer del brand Naj Oleari che negli anni Ottanta con levità e ironia ha ingentilito il codice vestimentario di uomini e donne, scrittore e poeta -, protagonista insieme a Guido Piacenza del talk di apertura della sesta edizione dell’ evento florovivaistico Floracult ideato da Ilaria Venturini Fendi e curato da Antonella Fornai che si è recentemente tenuto presso i Casali del Pino a La Storta, nella suggestiva cornice della campagna romana.

Idee in movimento, luminose e vibranti, quelle racchiuse in “Armonia selvatica, semi coraggiosi”(Edizioni Ponte alle Grazie, 12,00 Euro), il suo libro che ha presentato in questa occasione, il quale si rivolge agli agricoltori, esperti del settore e neofiti, affermando e comprovando mediante racconti autobiografici in cui parla della sua vita ed esperienza, di fiori, alberi e insetti con un profondo amore e rispetto che nasce dalla amorevole cura da lui riversata in questo ambito, consolidata con l’ apertura del Centro Botanico di Milano nel 1975, impressa nelle famose stampe dei tessuti Naj Oleari e culminata recentemente con la creazione dell’ Associazione Internazionale Brave Seeds che si propone di promuovere il metodo dell’ agricoltura selvatica, un concetto anarchico che si oppone alla monocoltura (lemma che mi ricorda “L’ uomo a una dimensione”, libro di Herbert Marcuse che documenta la parallela nascita di nuove forme di repressione sociale nella società capitalistica e comunista da cui deriva la privazione della libertà della gente e promuove il grande rifiuto, il pensiero negativo al fine di opporsi ai metodi di controllo) e considera il dinamismo, il genius loci, il patrimonio di flora e fauna esistente in un determinato luogo, favorevole al naturale sviluppo di un determinato terreno. Chi come me è profondamente ignorante in questo ambito, si è arricchito di nuove consapevolezze, ascoltando il suo intervento e leggendo il suo libro. Questo argomento che potrebbe sembrare lontano dalla quotidianità dell’ individuo e specialmente di chi come me, non è neppure avvezzo a curare le piante, pur amandole, ma così non è.

La natura è la metafora della vita e del vivere, di uno stile di vita, fatto di “un movimento solidale”, una partecipazione collaborativa che si trasforma in collaborazione partecipativa. Ciò ricorda il concetto su cui si basa Wikipedia, eppure non proviene dall’ etere, ma dalla terra. E’ un’ evoluzione culturale che parte dalle colture e diventa cultura, un monito a valorizzare “la comunicazione dal cielo alla terra” – come afferma Angelo – “verso l’ essere”. Splende l’ anarchismo gentile di chi si oppone alla volontà di potere che ha dato vita a sistemi di controllo e dominio di matrice monoculturale in ambito politico, statale, militare, religioso, scolastico, lavorativo, industriale e purtroppo anche agricolo. Il pensiero di Angelo vuole sottrarre l’ agricoltura al sistema al fine di raggiungere l’ armonia in tutti quegli altri ambiti all’ insegna di uno spirito creativo mediante il quale tutto cambia e si riforma in uno spirito di grande comprensione. Si continua a parlare di agricoltura, ma così non è o meglio non lo è soltanto. Cultura, conoscenza, socialità, sincretismo, sottrazione all’ etica del “divide et impera” (dividi e comanda) o dello sterile imperativo categorico del “produci, consuma, crepa” protagonista del brano “Morire” dei CCCP che anima una cieca considerazione dei bisogni in chiave consumistica, la quale depaupera l’ uomo in cui i bisogni non naturali e non necessari – come quelli definiti ieri da Epicuro – diventano invece essenziali. Questo e molto altro di cui presto tornerò a parlare ampiamente è ciò che è racchiuso in questo libro, uno strumento prezioso per pensare e osservare il mondo che ci circonda attraverso un altro punto di vista, molto più semplice, limpido e salubre delle contorte vie in cui sovente si perde l’ individuo.

It was held yesterday in the Rome countryside, at La Storta, in the Casali del Pino, “Seminare il futuro”(meaning “Sowing the future”), a smashing initiative launched by the chain of organic supermarkets Naturasì and hosted by the organic farm by the fashion designer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi. A return to nature, its rhythm, a gesture talking about humanity, sharing and connecting again the man to the earth: to sow the seeds, the seeds of grain. This event, come to its third edition, was held simultaneously held in many farms inside out Italy. Many people, families and children attended at at “Seminare il futuro” and started to sow at 11:00 am. It was the first time I attended at this event and it was a beautiful experience, framed by a sunny day, I enjoyed very much. Me along with many people – after having a delicious breakfast made of organic products which also featured the delicious bread made exclusively for the event by the Casali del Pino along with other organic products given by Naturasì – started to sow the wheat seeds, a special type of wheat, the “Claudio” wheat, existing since the age of ancient Roman emperor Claudio. A special emotion was embodied in this gesture – to bring the seeds and spread them on the ground -, representing the idea of sharing, giving something of ourselves to the ground, the place hosting us. A precious consciousness, connected to humanity, the respect and love for environment. Those are the values successfully made concrete by the nice people who featured in the event who enthusiastically joined and spent one day under the sign of nature. Silence, interrupted by voices of children, the bleats of sheep, light swish of trees and enriched by Epicurean interludes (including a selection of organic cheeses made by using vegetal rennet and cold cuts by the Casali del Pino).
“SEMINARE IL FUTURO”: LA CULTURA DELLA NATURA COME STILE DI VITA

Si è tenuta ieri presso la campagna romana, a La Storta, ai Casali del Pino, “Seminare il futuro”, una formidabile iniziativa lanciata dalla catena di supermercati biologiciNaturasìe ospitata dall’ azienda agricola biologica della fashion designer e attivista del sociale social Ilaria Venturini Fendi. Un ritorno alla natura, al suo ritmo, a un gesto che parla di umanità, condivisione e ricollega l’ uomo alla terra: piantare i semi, i semi del grano. L’ evento, giunto alla sua terza edizione, si è tenuto simultaneamente in molteplici aziende agricole dentro e fuori dall’ Italia. Molta gente, famiglie e bambini hanno partecipato a “Seminare il futuro” hanno iniziato a seminare alle ore 11:00. Era la prima volta che partecipavo a questo evento, una bella esperienza, incorniciata da una giornata di sole che ho apprezzato molto. Io e molte persone – dopo una deliziosa colazione fatta di prodotti biologici di cui è stato protagonista anche un delizioso pane preparato esclusivamente per l’ evento dai Casali del Pino unitamente ad altri prodotti offerti da Naturasì – abbiamo cominciato a piantare i semi di grano, una varietà speciale di grano, il grano Claudio” che esiste sin dall’ epoca dell’ imperatore Claudio dell’ antica Roma. Una particolare emozione era racchiusa in questo gesto – prendere i semi e spargerli nel terreno – che rappresenta l’ idea della condivisione, del dare qualcosa di noi alla terra, il luogo che ci ospita. Una preziosa consapevolezza, legata all’ umanità, al rispetto e all’ amore per l’ ambiente. Questi i valori felicemente concretizzati dalle simpatiche persone protagoniste dell’ evento che hanno aderito ad esso con entusiasmo e hanno trascorso una giornata all’ insegna della natura. Silenzio, interrotto dalle voci di grandi e piccini, dai belati delle pecore, dal lieve fruscio degli alberi e arricchito da interludi epicurei(comprensivi di una selezione di formaggi biologici realizzati avvalendosi di caglio vegetale e salumi dei Casali del Pino).
