I’m very pleased of announcing the event celebrating the book release “Tango, my childhood backwards and in high heels”( Feminist Press, $ 15, 95 )by the genius individual and bright, eclectic artist Justin Vivian Bond which will be held on 8^th September 2011 in New York at Dixon Place, featuring the reading by the artist along with smashing performances by Kate Bornstein, Nao Bustamente, Nath Ann Carrera and Amos Mac. A not to be missed happening to enjoy Justin Vivian Bond and V’s latest autobiographical work – which also recently has reviewed a controversial review by the New York Times, commented by the artist in V’s blog – having the merit of contributing by a universal language, telling the childhood, adolescence and experience of artist to promote the queer, gender neutral culture – something which is also very closed connected with my thought -, idea under the sign of freedom, tolerance and love that doesn’t define and classify the individual just relying to sexuality, subverting a conventional, antiquated and repressive cliché.

The smashing, eclectic artist Justin Bond recently performed along with talented artists as Nath Ann Carrera and Pixie Harlots in “Christmas spells”, traditional Christmas show series which will be held until 18th December 2010 on the stage of New York Abrons Arts Center and it will feature “Dixie Belle: the further adventures of Huckelberry Finn”, show adapted from the work by Kate Bornstein where finds Mark Twain’s bad-boy hero living as transgendered sex-worker in a brothel on Christmas Eve.
