“THE NATURAL STORIES” BY OLGA PONG AT FLORACULT

Poetry and lightness, an elegy which celebrates the nature and its little hosts, this is “The natural stories”, the exhibition project by Olga Pong, bright milliner and accessories designer who featured in the sixth edition of Floracult, nursery-gardening event ideated by the fashion designer, farmer and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi and curated by the landscape architect Antonella Fornai which has recently held in I Casali del Pino, at La Storta, in the picturesque frame of Rome countryside. The culture and love for nature turns into shapes and visions, giving rise to delicate creations – hats and head accessories – unique pieces where it shines a wise craftsmanship and the excellence of made in Italy that has exhibited during the event and enriched by a site-specific installation of matter which reminded a big spider and its webs, made exclusively for the event by the designer. It’s an enchanting alchemy which talks about refinement, savoir faire, uniqueness and documents the overwhelming creativity of Olga. The lyricism becomes clear, incisive and at the same time light sign, key to decode the elegance, resulting from a lifestyle which takes over itself a vibrant aesthetics and an ethic which makes concrete healthy values and pays homage to the natural world.

Poesia e levità, un’ elegia che celebra la natura e i suoi piccoli ospiti, questo è “Le storie naturali”, il progetto espositivo di Olga Pong, brillante designer di cappelli e accessori che è stata protagonista della sesta edizione di Floracult, evento florovivaistico ideato dalla fashion designer, imprenditrice agricola e attivista nel sociale Ilaria Venturini Fendi e curato dalla paesaggista Antonella Fornai che si è recentemente tenuto ai Casali del Pino, a La Storta, nella pittoresca cornice della campagna romana. La cultura e l’ amore per la natura si trasforma in forme e visioni, dando vita a delicate creazioni – cappelli e cerchietti -, pezzi unici in cui splende una sapiente artigianalità e l’ eccellenza del made in Italy che sono stati esposti durante l’ evento e arricchiti da un’ installazione materica site-specific che ricordava un grande ragno e le sue ragnatele, realizzata appositamente per l’ evento dalla designer. Un’ incantevole alchimia che parla di raffinatezza, savoir faire, unicità e documenta l’ inarrestabile vis creativa di Olga. Il lirismo diventa segno, preciso, incisivo e al tempo stesso leggero, chiave per decifrare l’ eleganza, risultato di un lifestyle che assume su di sé un’ estetica vibrante e un’ etica che abbraccia salubri valori e rende omaggio al mondo della natura.

A smart development of a concept, made of an unique combination of different signs and pattern where it shines a detailed work of styling, successfully made concrete by joining retro volumes of skirts, fun shorts and dresses, reinterpreting many decades of fashion history (from Fifties to Eighties). A joyful alchemy talking about talking about freshness and contemporary times, enriched by catchy accessories as bags and shoes along with marvelous swimsuits.

Colori, righe, pois e formidabili stampe che ritraggono paesaggi Haitiani sono i protagonisti della collezione primavera/estate 2015 della brillante fashion designer Stella Jean, presentata durante la settimana della moda milanese. Un intelligente consolidamento di un concept, fatto di una combinazione unica di diversi segni e motivi in cui splende una fine opera di styling, felicemente concretizzata unendo volumi retro di gonne, divertenti shorts e abiti che reinterpretano molteplici decadi della storia della moda(dagli anni Cinquanta agli anni Ottanta). Una gioiosa alchimia che parla di freschezza e contemporaneità, arricchita da accattivanti accessori quali borse e scarpe unitamente a meravigliosi costumi da bagno.

FASHION CULTURE: MY VISIT TO THE MODATECA DEANNA(1)

I recently visited the Modateca Deanna in Reggio Emilia, suggestive cathedral of fashion culture, owned by Deanna and Sonia Ferretti Veroni (mother and sister) which is where yesterday it was the renowned knitwear company Miss Deanna, established by the brilliant, powerful, dear friend Deanna Ferretti Veroni. It was an awesome experience to spend one day – and unfortunately is not been enough – to see the library of Modateca, crowded of artworks as the canvas by Salvatore Fiume and many others, enriching its rooms. Time stops when I am in library. Many books have draws my attention and naturally the fashion magazines. A successful experience, I highly recommend of doing to students and insiders for increasing their own culture.

Ho recentemente visitato la Modateca Deanna in Reggio Emilia, suggestiva cattedrale di cultura della moda, di proprietà di Deanna e Sonia Ferretti Veroni (madre e sorella) che è il luogo in cui ieri si trovava la rinomata azienda di maglieria Miss Deanna, fondata dalla brillante, poderosa, cara amica Deanna Ferretti Veroni. È stata una fantastica esperienza passare una giornata – e sfortunatamente non è abbastanza – vedere la biblioteca della Modateca, affollato di opere d’ arte quali le tele di Salvatore Fiume e molti altri che arricchiscono le sue stanze. Il tempo si ferma quando sono in biblioteca. Molti libri hanno catturato la mia attenzione e naturalmente i magazine di moda. Una felice esperienza che raccomando altamente di effettuare a studenti e addetti ai lavori per accrescere la loro cultura.

It took place during Altaroma latest edition the talent-scouting award WION (Who Is On Next), created by Altaroma in collaboration with Vogue Italia which awarded for the womenswear category Arthur Arbesser in joint place with Esmevie by Julia Voitenko and Daria Golevko. The brand Quattromani created by Massimo Noli and Nicola Frau received a special mention for the clean lines and sculptural volumes featuring in its collection.

ALTAROMA: THE MARVELOUS SINUOSITIES OF JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

The empowered femininity has shined and celebrated by the genius Jean Paul Gaultier in the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 haute couture collection he made, presented in Rome during the latest edition of Altaroma, which featured the patterns and sophisticated constructions being a leitmotiv of his work: corsets, stripes, transparencies, fringes evoking art deco suggestions, lace, sequins and fur (who was proud of using, as he asserted during the press conference I attended at the Hotel Flora Baglioni).

The man has appeared in this fashion show, a charming contemporary glampire has “turned into an object”, as the couturier said, emphasizing the force and theatricality of the woman he depicted. A enchanting event as well as a successful chance to meet and enjoy a legendary creative, who was extremely generous and modest during the press conference, also answering to the controversial questions of some Italian journalists (concerning the models and celebrities who would featured in the fashion show and other ones belonging to the same standard).

Instead me, I has been religiously silent, preferring hearing him, who generously spoke Italian and celebrated Rome, its suggestions, the Italian culture which has very relevant in its training as creative and individual (later, at the end of press conference I talked with him about Italian film, who has been very inspiring for him, about Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti) and hearing the President of Altaroma Silvia Venturini Fendi who made concrete a laudable work developing contemporary fashion, its culture under the sign of art and internationality.

ALTAROMA: LE MERAVIGLIOSE SINUOSITÀ DI JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

L’ emancipata femminilità ha brillato ed è stata celebrata dal geniale Jean Paul Gaultier nella collezione alta moda autunno/inverno 2013-2014 da lui realizzata, presentata a Roma in occasione dell’ ultima edizione di Altaroma di cui sono stati protagonisti i motivi e le sofisticate costruzioni che sono un leitmotiv della sua opera: bustier, righe, trasparenze, frange che evocano suggestioni art decò, pizzo, paillettes, trasparenze e pelliccia ( che è stato fiero di usare, amando la pelliccia, come costui ha affermato durante la conferenza stampa a cui ho partecipato presso l’ Hotel Flora Baglioni).

L’ uomo è apparso in questa sfilata, un affascinante vampiro glam contemporaneo, trasformato in oggetto, come couturier ha detto, enfatizzando la forza e teatralità della donna da lui ritratta. Un incantevole evento che è stato anche una felice occasione per conoscere vis à vis e apprezzare un leggendario creativo che è stato estremamente generoso e modesto durante la conferenza stampa, rispondendo anche alle discutibili domande di alcune giornaliste italiane( inerenti le modelle e celebrities che avrebbero partecipato alla sfilata unitamente ad altre della medesima levatura).

Invece religiosamente silente, ho preferito ascoltarlo, il quale ha generosamente parlato in italiano e celebrato Roma, le sue suggestioni, la cultura italiana che ha avuto un ruolo molto significativo nella sua formazione creativa e individuale (successivamente, alla fine della conferenza stampa ho parlato con lui del cinema italiano, che lo ha ispirato molto, di registi quali Federico Fellini e Luchino Visconti) e ascoltando il Presidente di Altaroma Silvia Venturini Fendi la quale ha concretizzato una felice opera che consolida la moda contemporanea, la sua cultura all’ insegna dell’ arte e l’ internazionalità.

THE ITC’S ETHICAL INITIATIVE & ALTAROMA BRINGING AFRICA TO ROME

A smashing event organized by UN agency ITC and Altaroma, a fashion show which was held in Rome at the Complesso del Santo Spirito during Altaroma and featured four brands, Christie Brown, Ghana brand designed by Aisha Obuobi, Kiki Clothing by Titi Ademola (London native having African parents) who made a collection inspired by the Northern Africa, Portiener Roth, Switzerland brand created by Sabine Portenier and Evelyne Roth who used textiles coming from Burkina Faso and the brilliant and renowned Italian-Haitian fashion designer Stella Jean. A celebration of Africa as well as ethnic suggestions that gave rise to fun collections under the sign of color, craftsmanship, embodying a vibrant concept. A laudable initiative which hopefully follows, being a way to celebrate the Africa culture as well as emancipate people from poverty through work, fashion industry its continuous, local development in countries as Africa.

L’ INIZIATIVA ETHICAL DELL’ ITC & ALTAROMA CHE PORTA L’ AFRICA A ROMA

Un formidabile evento organizzato dall’ agenzia ONU ITC ed Altaroma, una sfilata che si è tenuta a Roma presso il Complesso del Santo Spirito in occasione di Altaroma ed ha avuto quali protagonisti quattro brand, Christie Brown, brand del Ghana disegnato da Aisha Obuobi, Kiki Clothing di Titi Ademola (natia di Londra da genitori africani) che ha realizzato una collezione che si ispira al Nord Africa, Portiener Roth, brand svizzero creato da Sabine Portenier ed Evelyne Roth che si sono avvalse di tessuti del Burkina Faso e la brillante e rinomata fashion designer italo-haitiana Stella Jean. Una celebrazione dell’ Africa come anche delle suggestioni etniche che hanno dato vita a divertenti collezioni all’ insegna del colore, l’ artigianalità che racchiudono un vibrante concept. Una lodevole iniziativa che sperabilmente prosegua, essendo un modo per celebrare la cultura dell’ Africa come anche emancipare gli individui dalla povertà attraverso il lavoro, l’ industria della moda, il suo continuo sviluppo locale in paesi come l’ Africa.

LA PARISIENNE, ART, CREATIVITY & OTHER WONDERS FEATURING IN ALTAROMA

“La Parisienne” the fashion show which presents the haute couture collection by the genius Jean-Paul Gaultier and tells about the synergy there is between the fashion Capitals Paris and Rome, will be one of the smashing events (which will be held on 7^th July 2013 at the Rome Complesso Monumentale di Santo Spirito at 8:00 pm) featuring in the calendar of Altaroma which will be held in Rome from 5^th to 10^th July 2013.

Art and fashion, a synergy emphasized by the work of Silvia Venturini Fendi as President of Altaroma, will feature in the event “My room in Rome” by Laura Urbinati which will be held on 5^th July 2013 in Rome at the Hotel Locarno for the Altaroma pre-opening and will host the creations by the fashion designer along with four videos made by Ottonella Mocellin and Nicola Pellegrini (artists residents in the celebrated Lia Rumma art gallery), starring Candela Novembre.

Emerging creativity and talent-scouting is a leitmotiv of Altaroma as successfully it has evidenced by the two formats it created, the talent scouting award WION (Who Is On Next), organized in collaboration with Vogue Italia and Room Service, event under the sign of creativity on demand and demi-couture showcasing and giving the chance to sale the creations of many brilliant fashion designers who have discovered by Altaroma and are today hosted by renowned fashion tradeshow events as the Florentine Pitti and Milan White tradeshow.

A suggestive display of fashion which will present the first womenswear collection by the brilliant fashion designer Fabio Quaranta as well as the creations under the sign of lightness and dynamism by the sophisticated and genius Angelo Bratis.

Last but not the least a theme (which is very closely connected to me), ethical fashion will be the core of a fashion project made by Altaroma in collaboration with the UN Agency ITC(International Trade Centre),featuring renowned emerging creatives as Stella Jean as well as Cangiari, Calabria womenswear brand of ethical fashion.

A catchy tourbillon of events that depict and give to Rome a central and active role in the Italian contemporary fashion scene.

LA PARISIENNE, ARTE, CREATIVITÀ & ALTRE MERAVIGLIE PROTAGONISTE DI ALTAROMA

“La Parisienne”, sfilata che presenta la collezione di alta moda del geniale Jean-Paul Gaultier e parla della sinergia esistente tra le capitali della moda Parigi e Roma, sarà uno dei formidabili eventi (il quale si terrà il 7 luglio 2013 presso il Complesso Monumentale di Santo Spirito di Roma alle ore 20:00 pm), protagonisti del calendario di Altaroma che si terrà a Roma dal 5 al 10 luglio 2013.

Ultimo, ma non meno importante, un tema (che è a me intimamente connesso), la moda ethical sarà al centro di un progetto di moda realizzato da Altaroma in collaborazione con l’ Agenzia dell’ ONU ITC(International Trade Centre) di cui saranno protagonisti rinomati creativi emergenti quali Stella Jean come anche Cangiari, brand di abbigliamento donna di moda ethical della Calabria.

Un accattivante tourbillon di eventi che ritraggono e danno a Roma un ruolo centrale e attivo nella scena della moda italiana contemporanea.
